Tracking at night
It has been so hot here lately that it is hard to keep motivated to get outside and train. For both myself and the dogs. Last night in an attempt to cure our cabin fever we took a drive down to the elementary school around 8 pm and I put in a couple of practice tracks. What a great thing to do! Every time I go tracking with my dogs I wonder why I don’t get off my lazy you know what and do it more often. We took a little walk down on the playground while the tracks aged. Then we went to work.
Aky ran his track first and he did quite well. even though in a couple of places he obviously would have preferred to be tracking on grass than on hard surfaces. Even so his confidence is improving and if we continue to practice on a regular basis he should back up and ready to enter a test next season.
Nara was very excited to be tracking and had to do a few zoomies at the first corner getting me totally tangled up in the tracking line before she could settle in and concentrate on tracking. She did really well for her first time tracking in the dark. As usual her article indication could be better but we sure had fun getting back out again.
